Why does my boiler keep losing pressure?
Usually a leak, a failing pressure-relief valve or a waterlogged expansion tank. Topping it up only hides the problem. We find the cause and fix it.
What is the banging or kettling noise?
Most often scale or sludge on the heat exchanger, or air in the system. Left alone, it lowers efficiency and stresses the boiler.
Why are some radiators or baseboards cold?
Trapped air, a stuck zone valve or a weak circulator pump are the usual causes. All are fixable.
Should I repair or replace my boiler?
If it's under about 15 years old and the fault is minor, repair usually wins. Older boilers needing a major part often cost more to keep than to replace. We quote both so you can decide.
How long do boilers last?
Typically 15 to 25 years depending on type and maintenance. Older cast-iron and atmospheric boilers are far less efficient than today's condensing models.
